Walter’s Hot Dog Truck FAQ
What does an on-site private event include?
Our menus for private parties, corporate events, and weddings can include everything from hot dogs, and our specialty fries, to beverages, funnel cake fries, and homemade ice cream. All menus are able to be customized to fit your needs! Our minimum for the truck varies based on the day of the week and the type of occasion. An on-site event includes a full staff on board the truck that will arrive early to setup and prepare the food, then cook and serve your guests. Email us for our menu costs and details: email@example.com.
We serve on paper plates or in brown bags. Napkins, salt and pepper, ketchup, and Walter's signature mustard are provided on our serving counter for guests.
What is not included?
Our services do not include a wait staff outside of the truck or a catering staff to do so; cleaning up after the party; tables/chairs/serving supplies and utensils.
How many hours does the truck rental fee include?
The rental fee includes 2.5 hours at your party, including setup and breakdown. We arrive 30 minutes early to setup, serve for 1.5 hours, then break down for about 30 minutes. This does not include the travel time.
What are the menu options for the truck?
Email us for all of our packages and menu details.
We serve hot dogs, fries, beverages, and ice cream from the truck. We do not serve milkshakes or freezes, or any other blended beverages.
How far will you travel?

How far in advance should I schedule with you?
We book up to 12 months in advance. Our truck is rented on a first come, first serve, basis. Contact us as soon as you have a date in mind. 2018 is booking up fast!
How do I pay for my event?
We accept checks only for deposits made out to Walter’s Hot Dogs Truck, Inc. and cash, check, or credit card (American Express, Discover, Visa, and MasterCard) for the final payment.
Is there a minimum number of people required for an event?
No, there is not a minimum number of people. However, there is a minimum cost that must be met for the truck to book a private event.
Is there a maximum number of people you can serve?

What if I need to cancel?
Your party deposit may be refunded if you cancel before 2 weeks from your scheduled event date. Any cancellation within 2 weeks of the event date will cause you to forfeit your deposit. Any cancellation within 72 hours of the event date will forfeit the deposit and the remaining balance that was paid.
We can accommodate your party in rain or shine. Our truck has a large overhead and awning so rain will not be an issue for us. If you have to cancel your party due to weather (down pouring rain, severe rain and wind, etc.) we reserve the right to offer one rain date within the next 6 months after your party, based on availability.
Where do you need to park your truck?
Truck 1, a.k.a. Walter, is 23 feet long, 7 ½ feet wide, and 9 ’4" high; Truck 2, a.k.a. Uncle Gene, is 25 feet long, 8 feet wide, and 10 feet high . Because of our grills, fryers and exhaust system, we cannot park inside of a garage, building, or tent. We are able to park in driveways, parking lots, and on firm, grassy areas. We cannot be parked on a slant or hill of any kind.
What are some of the other requirements of the truck?
We have our own generator which runs the truck at a low noise level; our truck cannot be plugged in for electric power, as the voltage is too high.
Where did your trucks come from?
We purchased our truck from Vending Trucks located in New Brunswick, New Jersey. We customized the inside to reflect the operations and kitchen line of our roadside stand, Walter’s Hot Dogs. We designed the outside to resemble our nationally registered historical landmark pagoda.
